Parameter File has been designed as
a mechanism to pass arguments to a script.
Parameter file contains the list of
script variables with their values. The user can create just one
script and customize its functionality based on parameters. The
Parameter Editor provides easy to use graphical user interface for
parameter files development. Refer to Parameter Editor
documentation for more details on how to create parameter
Example: The user might want
to create a script to monitor Cisco routers. The parameter for that
script will be a IP address of a particular router. So the user has
just one script to poll several devices.
Parameter variables can be accessed
in the script by their names. In the following example 'Parameter1'
is the name of parameter passed into the script:
